NEPAL
In March, Timon Bengtson (Senior Pastor of CityReach Church in Adelaide) and Rowland Forman visited Nepal to conduct two pastors’ conferences and to consider the request from leaders there, to launch a BSL in Kathmandu. The response was overwhelmingly positive. A local BSL Advisory Group has been formed from two extensive church networks. This group will recruit the first BSL class for September of 2017. Please pray for wisdom in the selection of the pastor-trainers and other practical details.
MYANMAR
May 2017 saw the start of the second BSL group in Myanmar. 23 pastor-trainers and evangelists met for Module One: Training in Servanthood: Leading Like Jesus, Encouragement: Leading Like Barnabas, and Mutual Mentoring. The excitement was high when the trainers were given courses on Servanthood and Encouragement that they could take back to their churches and train their own leaders. Andrew Clemow (Pastor at Clark Rd Chapel, Whangarei, NZ), with Elaine and Rowland Forman provided the mentoring and teaching. Lal Ruat Cawk (Ruatte), our National Director and his wife Anna coordinated the week and Ruatte and Silas Thang did an incredible job of interpreting the lectures.
GHANA
In July, Rowland and Elaine will travel to Sunyani, Ghana to start the first BSL group there. They are partnering with Restoration Ministries. Rowland will be coaching two of their leaders, Michael Attafua and Rev. Henry Appiah so that they can take BSL to a number of West African countries in the future. What a privilege to work with Ghanaian leaders with a vision for multiplication!
